Ms. Amber Lehner
I am honored to be your child's teacher this year. Teaching is my passion and I will do everything in my power to provide your child with a solid foundation that will help them continue on to great success. I am originally from Wisconsin. I grew up on farm outside of a small town called Viroqua. I am a Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan -better known as a Cheesehead. In 1995 I moved to Las Vegas to become a teacher. I have 26 years of teaching experience in grades 1 thru 5. In addition I have been a Literacy Specialist who supports teachers with their reading and writing instruction. I currently am the Co-Director of the Southern Nevada Writing Project where I organize youth activities centered around writing. I also teach future teachers at UNLV about my favorite thing, Children's Literature. At home I enjoy spending time with my 22 year old daughter, Julia, my boyfriend Kevin, our dog Lambeau, our cats Max Pumpkin, Oscar, and Emmie, and our turtle Squirt - who usually is at school with me. During my free time I love to travel, write, read, binge Netflix, and attend Aviator baseball games.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education
with a Minor in World History from Viterbo University in 1993.
